Israel, stop the massacre of Palestinians and seize on Gaza!

During 27th～29th December, Israel's warplanes rained down almost 100 tons of bombs on Gaza strip in Palestine, causing 345 dead and 1,450 wounded.
The bombing destroyed universities, TV stations, mosques, as well as Hamas government buildings. What is worse, Israeli government has mobilized soldiers and tanks to ready for a full-scale ground war.

Israel has massacred, tortured, beaten Gaza people ever since it started to occupy this area. Especially, when Hamas got elected in 2006, Israel launched the military operation  to attack Gaza and kill hundreds of Palestinians.

But when the military operation was failed to achieve its goal, collapsing of Hamas government, Israel and the U.S. manipulated a coup, but this also failed miserably. Hamas became more stronger after they took control of Gaza strip. And Israel started to intensify the seize on Gaza.

The siege has destroyed lives of ordinary Palestinians. As the supply of oil stopped, power plants couldn't generate electricity and vehicles couldn't move. Some of Palestinian patients had to face early deaths, because they couldn't go to hospitals in Israel and medical supplies were dried up. And as foods were in short supply, prices of foods were skyrocketed, and dependence on external aid was increased.

But the siege has caused resistances, too. In January 2001, people in Gaza strip brought down the wall between Gaza and Egyptian border, and crossed the border to get foods and medical supplies. But even after confronting resistances, Israel didn't lift  the siege.

And the reason behind the end of the cease-fire between Hamas and Israel, which lasted past six months until 19th December, was Israel's siege.

Initially, Palestinians expected that the cease-fire would bring the end of the siege and improvement of their lives. But the siege never stopped, and Palestinians could only consider the cease-fire as useless.  

Then Israel used this as an excuse for the massive attacks. The current Israeli government want to get submission from Palestinians, and gain upper hand in Israel's February general election. The Israeli government want to make Palestinians as scapegoats for its own political gains. Nevertheless, the US government lied as if Hamas and Palestinians laid up for themselves.

One and half millions of people in Gaza strip are living under virtual hell. Israel government has to stop immediately the massacre and siege. And the US government has to stop supporting Israeli's aggressions.  

Anger against the Israeli massacre is spreading around the world, including Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Turkey, the US, Britain. And also in South Korea, many civil society  organizations, social movement groups, and political parties initiate actions to show their solidarity with Palestinians. And as long as Israel's massacre and siege against the people in Gaza continues, our struggles for Palestinian justice and peace will also be continued.
